What software do you use?
QuickBooks Online, and only QuickBooks Online. Working in one platform means I know it inside and out, and your books stay consistent month to month.
I don't use QuickBooks yet. Can you still help?
Yes. I'll set up QuickBooks Online for your business, connect your bank and credit card accounts, and organize everything so it's ready from day one.
Do we need to be in the same state?
No. I work fully remotely, so you don't need to be in California. Everything happens online and over email.
Do you do taxes or payroll?
No. I do bookkeeping only. I keep your books accurate and organized, so your CPA or tax preparer has everything they need at tax time, and your payroll provider's numbers are recorded correctly.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
Small businesses, including brand-new ones. If you're just getting started, it's the best time to set up clean books.
How does pricing work?
Monthly bookkeeping is a flat monthly rate based on the size of your business, mainly how many transactions and accounts you have. After a free call, you'll get a quote before any work starts. Catch-up work is quoted separately.
What reports will I get each month?
A profit & loss statement and a balance sheet, every month. Together they show what you earned, what you spent, and where your business stands, in a format you can actually read.
My books are behind. Can you catch them up?
Yes. I'll work through the backlog, reconcile everything to your statements, and get your books current. From there, monthly bookkeeping keeps them that way.
Is there a contract?
No. Monthly bookkeeping is month-to-month, and you can cancel any time. If your business grows and your monthly activity changes significantly, we'll talk about adjusting your rate before anything changes.
How do we communicate?
Mostly by email, and you work directly with me. There's no team or hand-off, just one person who knows your books.
